Our consortium devoted to the research and development of more sustainable recyclable packaging solutions is drawing first conclusions on the feasibility of using packaging material made of recycled plastics.
At the Nestlé Institute of Packaging Sciences, experts designed and produced flexible coffee packs featuring a laminate made of 50% Post Consumer Recycling materials from CIRCULAR FoodPack. One of the project partners, Amcor, produced this laminate which protects the packaged product.
This research showcases the possibility of small-scale production of such packaging materials and contributes to Nestlé’s ongoing efforts to research new materials in sustainable packaging, especially with food contact applications.
